Please complete and submit the application to receive consideration for one of the very limited volunteer positions at Association for Youth & Community Advancement (AYCA).

AYCA is a 501(c)(3) organization working in San Diego County to provide a wide range of services to local youth, including after school tutoring, day camps and mentorship opportunities. We invite highly motivated volunteers over the age of 16 interested in obtaining experience in administrative assignments, producing social media content, and .

After we receive your application, we will contact you and arrange for a virtual interview with one of our volunteer coordinators. Qualifications:

Internship Focus

Interns will serve as a key function of the Association for Youth & Community Advancement by providing direct support to the Board. Interns will gain experience in administrative assignments, producing social media content, researching issues pertinent to the mission and vision of the organization, communicating with donors and supporters, and assisting with promotional work and community outreach. They will support AYCA through a variety of tasks related to organization and communication and will be responsible for confidential and time sensitive material.

Intern Responsibilities

- Establish communication with past AYCA participants via email or telephone
- Maintain contact lists - Produce and distribute correspondence letters, info-graphics, posters
- Work with board members on projects and accomplish results in a timely manner
- Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
- Produce and/or post social media content

Qualifications/Requirements for Intern Applicants

- Be enthusiastic about AYCA's vision and mission
- Excellent time management and organizational skills and ability to prioritize work
- Attention to detail and problem solving skills
- Knowledge in Microsoft Office and Google (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Sheets, etc)
- Have experience with social media (Facebook, Instagram)
- Able and willing to adapt to various duties and be flexible with changing projects

Restrictions

- Must be a team player and be able to follow directions given by board.
- Must be enrolled in a higher education institution
- Must submit the required paperwork and pass a background check before being assigned
